About The Washington County Tax Claim Bureau
The Washington County Tax Claim Bureau is responsible for collecting delinquent taxes for the County Treasurer, school districts, townships, and boroughs. After collections, the funds are dispersed to the appropriate taxing bodies. The Washington County Tax Claim Bureau provides tax information regarding delinquencies to banking institutions, real estate agencies, attorneys, etc., as well as to individuals and title searchers. The bureau conducts tax sales as prescribed by law.
Washington County does NOT maintain an excess fund list. All monies are distributed to owner(s) or to the Municipalities after 3 years.
The PAHAF Assistance Program has begun the process of application intake as of March 1, 2024. If you have already applied for assistance, please be sure to follow up with your PAHAF caseworker about the status of your case or call the PAHAF Call Center immediately at 888-987-2423. Regardless of your status with PAHAF, the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau will continue with all future sale proceedings. If you are expecting delinquent tax relief, please follow up with your assigned PAHAF caseworker. The Washington County Tax Claim Bureau does not receive regular updates of your application status from PAHAF.
