The Department of Public Affairs is vital in providing accurate, timely, and complete information regarding county actions, achievements, and assets to the public. 

Ensuring that everyone who could benefit from a Washington County program or service knows about them and how to access them is a primary goal of the office.  The office is responsible for expanding knowledge and awareness of county issues and functions and their impact on the local community.  

The office is entrusted with cultivating and coordinating relationships between Washington County residents, organizations, media, business groups, and elected officials.
